Built by O. W. Hurd, Circa 1905. This structure was Florence, Oregon’s first telephone company commencing operations in 1912. Operator quarters were upstairs, and switchboards downstairs. The design is a good example of early commercial architecture with scrolled cornish brackets along the false front. This early photo shows a bakery upstairs and hardware store downstairs. |
